“Where Will it Go?”: a Parody of “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s Moana about all of the rain in Ohio

“Where Will it Go?”
A parody of “How Far I’ll Go” from Disney’s Moana about the constant rain in Ohio this spring

I’ve been staring out my Ohio window
Long as I can remember
Never seeing that it’s dry.

I wish
we could stop all this rainwater
And this summer would be hotter
I think we’re all gonna cry.

Every single day, check my weather app,
And it calls for rain, and it looks like crap,
Chance of thunderstorms,
When will we get warm
And sunny summer days?

Oh look! More rain!

See the rain in the sky as it falls,
It taunts me.
And no one knows
Where it will go.
Cause our fields and our lakes and our creeks
They’re all full now.
I just don’t know,
If more falls, there’s just no telling where it will go.

I know
Everybody in Ohio
Seems unhappy in Ohio
Every day is wet and gross.

I know
Everybody in Ohio
Would pay good money in Ohio
For some sun in a heavy dose.

We can’t play outside,
We can’t swim or boat,
We’re not satisfied
Living in a moat.
And we’re stuck inside
For so stinkin’ long
Can the sun shine please?

See the sun in the sky as it shines,
It blinds me.
But we all know
That it will go.
Wish it’d stay for more than a day in Ohio.
But we all know,
When it shines, won’t be long
Before it has to go.

Brief sun with rain clouds in the distance and a flooded patio

See the rain in the sky as it falls,
It taunts me.
And no one knows
Where it will go.
And our farmers can’t plant in the fields
It’s maddening!

One day we’ll know,
where it will go!

I know we are all getting frustrated, not just in Ohio, but in many states. It’s been a crazy spring with so much rain, constant storms, and horrible tornado breakouts, but we are Ohioans and we know how to keep our sense of humor during tough times. Things will turn around and it won’t be long before we’re complaining about it being too hot and sunny, I’m sure. Complaining/joking about the ever-changing and strange weather is practically an Olympic sport here. Hang in there, friends!

Also, I like writing parodies for fun, but never post me actually singing them. If I do get brave enough, I will probably post a video on my Facebook page, Rita’s Random Ramblings, so be sure to follow that if you want to see bonus content like that that doesn’t make it into the main blog.

Comment below with what you would love to do when it stops raining (if you are from an area where it just won’t stop).
